The Story Behind Our AI PR Review Tool

From startup founder to Tesla's engineering team and back again?

Every great tool emerges from real-world experience. My journey in software development began in 2008 when, as a young entrepreneur, I co-founded my first development company. Starting with just a team of students, we grew into a successful business handling over 40 complex projects and reaching ₽12M in annual revenue.

Team collaboration

The entrepreneurial years taught me invaluable lessons about building sustainable software solutions and managing development teams. We implemented robust workflows using tools like Git, Jira, and Asana, while maintaining a strong focus on individual professional growth within our team of 25 developers.

The Transition to Enterprise

In 2019, I took on new challenges in Berlin's tech scene, joining Delivery Hero as a Golang developer. The experience of refactoring and optimizing large-scale applications sharpened my understanding of what makes code not just functional, but maintainable and scalable.

As Engineering Manager at Delivery Hero, I learned firsthand the challenges of maintaining code quality at scale. Our team tackled complex billing systems, and I saw how crucial efficient code review processes were for maintaining high standards while moving quickly.

Tesla and the Vision for Better Code Reviews

Today, as a Staff Software Engineer at Tesla, I've had the opportunity to tackle even more challenging problems. I'm deeply involved in one of the most critical and complex software systems in the automotive industry. Working on factory software that directly impacts safety, reliability, and performance has given me a profound understanding of the importance of code quality. One wrong line of code could have significant real-world implications, making thorough code reviews not just a best practice, but an absolute necessity.

"The best code reviews don't just catch bugs – they teach, share knowledge, and help teams grow together."

Building the Future of Code Review

This journey – from startup founder to enterprise tech leader – has given me a unique perspective on code review. I've experienced the challenges from every angle: as a junior developer receiving feedback, as a tech lead balancing quality with deadlines, and as an engineering manager working to maintain standards across large teams.

Core Principles

  • Code reviews should teach, not just test
  • Feedback should be actionable and contextual
  • Tools should enhance human expertise, not replace it

We're building this tool with the understanding that every line of code represents an opportunity to learn and improve. Whether you're a startup scaling your first product or an enterprise maintaining complex systems, we're here to help your team write better code, faster.
